PPS-16-40-01 Receiving and sorting unit is designated for:
- Receiving the produce from the field from dump vehicles, separating the soil and tops and sorting the produce into three, four fractions.
When equipped with a special rod conveyor, it facilitates to separate very small potatoes (baby potatoes) for sale to trading networks or for use as a seed material.
Principle of operation:
The produce coming from the field is unloaded from a rear dump truck into the receiving bin body having the capacity of 6 m3 and it falls onto a wide rubber-fabric belt of the bottom conveyor along which they are conveyed to the soil residue-isolating module and then to the separating module.
Each module is a structure comprised of adjustable polyurethane rollers.
The produce is screened through a preset gap between rollers and separated into three fractions each of which falls on the individually designated diverting conveyors.
The use of a special rod conveyor facilitates separation of the fourth fraction — baby potatoes
Options:
- A rod conveyor for small potato separation (4th fraction)
Standard equipment includes:
- top protective tent
- roller groups are hydraulically separated by the scale ruler using the three hydraulic cylinders driven by the button on the control panel and allowing the operator to clearly see the fraction size to be set.
- Separators are equipped with a self-cleaning function (TurboClean).
- The bottom conveyor and separator are equipped with an infinitely variable speed control function.
- The diverting conveyors are equipped with reverse and speed control functions.
- Flow regulators forming part of the PPS-16-40 hydraulic system are manufactured by BUCHER Hydraulics.
- The hydraulic system is equipped with !!!!Geroler!!! hydraulic motors which are more reliable than gerotor hydraulic motors and have a greater safety margin.
The mounted geroler hydraulic motors provide for:
- elimination of jerks that occur during hydraulic drive operation,
- stable rotational speed of the separator rollers over the entire adjustment range;
- uniform rotational speed of the separator rollers.
The torque of such hydraulic motors is higher by about 15% than that of gerotor hydraulic motors.
The hydraulic motors have additional protection for trouble-free operation under severe conditions of high dust concentration. Improved shaft sealing extends the hydraulic motor service life.
The hydraulic motor has been engineered to meet arduous operating conditions such as variable dynamic radial load, intermittent operation and shaft vibration, with the hydraulic motor output shaft being mounted in needle bearings.
- The control cabinet contains reliable Scheider Electric electrical components as well as a phase control relay.
- Two-component polyurethane paint coating (Tikkurila (Finland)).
- The bottom rear part of the receiving bin is reinforced with rubber-metal linings preventing puncturing it by the sides of dump trucks.
Barbieri rubber-fabric belt (Italy) is used on the PPS 16-40-01 receiving bin.
