PKS-40 (KROT) Self-propelled potato picker is used for removal of potatoes, onions, etc. from bulk storage piles with a high throughput rate of up to 100 t/h.
The potato picker comprises two parts:
- a self-propelled tractor with reinforced rod conveyor;
- trailed telescopic conveyor for conveying the produce picked up from the pile to any processing line.
Principle of operation:
A self-propelled potato picker is a self-propelled vehicle controlled by an operator seated in the vehicle using an ergonomic control panel.
The picker's sharp nose moves into the bottom of the pile, picks up the product and conveys it along its own rubber-metal conveyor belt.
Metal and rubber wheel skirts with a bottom rubber edge prevent the machine from running over vegetables.
The driving modes are controlled by user-friendly joysticks from the control panel in front of the operator's seat.
The wheels are driven uniformly by a chain transmission from two gearmotors.
The product is conveyed by the rod conveyor of the self-propelled tractor to the belt of the trailed telescopic conveyor for further feeding to the line.
Standard equipment includes:
The rod conveyor of a self-propelled tractor is characterized by the longest service life compared to conventional belts.
A plate driving and driven drum designed by the plant's designers is made in the form of a barrel, thereby preventing the belt from slipping off and increasing its service life.
In contrast to conventional designs, PKS 100 is equipped with heavy duty joysticks to control movement.
KROT is equipped with a convenient belt stretcher that allows for quick belt replacement without removing drive shafts.
A cushioned and ergonomic adjustable seat is comfortable for the operator.
A powerful LED spotlight facilitates the work at night.
Each PKS Potato picker is equipped with a separate control cabinet accommodating:
- differential circuit breaker for short-circuit current protection and current leakage prevention (Schneider Electric (France).
PKS-40 is equipped with enhanced pneumatic forklift truck radial carcass tires which, unlike conventional R13 automobile tires, are configured for maximum traction, withstand increased loads and have a long service life.
A two-component polyurethane paint coating (Tikkurila (Finland)) is applied at the plant.
